Course Description

This course is a combination of hands-on learning with relevant classroom work to align with the national standard as set forth by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. Students will learn pre-trip operation, yard skills, and on-road skills on the range in a progressively taught class to become proficient for the Motor Vehicle Administration Class B final exam. Preparing students to earn the class B license. Classroom instruction includes basic operation and understanding of mechanics and parts of the trucks, how the air brake system works, defensive driving, driving in foul weather, Department of Transportation regulations, hours of Service, log books, and route planning.
