Course Description

This course will focus on gas-fired and oil-fired warm air furnaces and cover the three methods of heat transfer, combustion, types of fuel used, and more. Under supervision, students will monitor and measure manifold pressure on a gas furnace, identify major components of an oil furnace, identify the components on different types of furnaces, and learn cleaning and filter replacement. Must take Basic Refrigeration or have instructor approval prior to taking this class. Text required. Senior adult and disabled retiree course fee waivers apply. Transcript available.
