Course Description

This class will explore the mythological and fairy tale root of C.S. Lewis' final and most sophisticated novel, Till We Have Faces, 1956.  This novel draws on the classic myth of Cupid and Psyche to explore the mind and motivations of the main characters as Lewis envisioned them.  We will read the novel in its entirety, analyzing corresponding myths and fairy tales along the way, in order to appreciate the way literary works build on one another over time.  Senior adult and disabled retiree tuition waivers apply.  Required Text: Till We Have Faces, 1956, by C.S. Lewis
