Course Description

Apply the knowledge and skills you learned in the theory and skills lab components of the Nurse Refresher Series in a 60-hour supervised clinical setting. Various locations may be used, and the instructor will schedule your assignment individually with a preceptor. Your experience will include the application of the nursing process, management of patient care, delegation, documentation, and medication administration. You will need a uniform, stethoscope, and a watch with a second hand. Documentation of the following information must be provided prior to the first day of class: a current Healthcare Provider CPR card; proof of immunization for measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella; a negative TB skin test or a negative chest x-ray; and current liability insurance. Concurrent enrollment in Nurse Refresher Theory, Nurse Refresher Skills Lab, or permission from the program coordinator required. Senior adult and disabled retiree tuition waivers apply.
