Course Description

The Insurance Help Desk Professional technical certificate provides academic and occupational skills training necessary to prepare students for a high growth career and entrepreneurial opportunities in the insurance and financial services industry. This course specializes in Life, Accident, and Health Insurance. Students will take part in theory and practical experiences that emphasize competency in the following content areas: consultancy, customer service, front-line underwriting, quotations, claims, and agency management systems. Soft skills training in punctuality, professional dress, effective communication, teamwork, leadership, negotiation, sociability, and conflict resolution skills will be reinforced each lesson. Professional Licensing and Credentialing - Participants will prepare to take and pass state licensing exam in Life, Accident, and Health insurance. Must be at least 17.5 years of age and read English at a basic level. A high school diploma is preferred, but not required. Course costs includes: books, state exam fees, and class materials.
