Course Description

Interested in an entry-level career in veterinary medicine? Take this course to learn the role and responsibilities of a veterinary assistant as you explore the skills needed for the workplace. Includes information related to ethics and professionalism; customer service; dog and cat breeds; animal behavior and handling; sanitation; and grooming. Prerequisite courses required. Accuplacer Reading (NGR) and arithmetic (NGA) assessments required prior to registration. Technical standards apply (It is recommended that students are able to lift 50 or more pounds and are able to stand for long periods of time). Textbook purchase required. Senior adult and disabled retiree tuition waivers apply. Transcript available.
