Classes focus on general emergency care, airway management, patient assessment, EMS foundations and EMS operations. Program includes American Heart Association BLS as well as a field internship.
This program prepares students to sit for the National Registry exams to become nationally certified. Those who complete this program will be prepared to work as an emergency medical technician. EMT's use their skills to stabilize patients and work as part of a team under medical supervision, either with other BLS providers or with Paramedics. They respond to both critical and emergent patients.
