Course Description

This course is a continuation of Child Care Apprenticeship I. It will build on the concepts learned in the first six months of the apprenticeship program. This second tier of courses will provide apprentices with additional information, methods of practices and resources related to healthy and safety, communication skills for child care providers, school-age child care, positive discipline techniques for early childhood professionals and supporting children with challenging behaviors. Apprentices who complete the course will earn the following certificates required by the Office of Child Care: 90-hour School Age Certificate, and 18 Core of Knowledge hours.
