Course Description

To beat a hacker you have to think like one! Ethical hacking is the process of penetrating computers, networks, and applications that you have official authorization to access in order to determine if vulnerabilities exist. Once the vulnerabilities are discovered, what should be done to undertake preventative, corrective, and protective countermeasures before an actual compromise to the system takes place? This course will teach you how to look for weaknesses and vulnerabilities in target systems. You will use the same knowledge and tools as a malicious hacker, but in a lawful and legitimate manner, to assess the security of a target system. Students will complete the exam in class. Transcript available. Senior adult and disability tuition waivers apply.
