Course Description

Learn how to protect and preserve assets from the costs of long-term care. This course is not only for seniors, but family members of seniors who may be called upon to deal with these issues. You will learn about how to qualify for helpful governmental programs, leverage Medicaid to protect your own assets, and the steps you should be taking now before the crises hits. These concepts will be covered: long-term care insurance, the essential estate planning documents, and health insurance under the Health Care Reform Act. **( This course has been updated to include information on recent legislation "Secure Act of 2019" which includes substantial changes in IRA rules moving forward. ) The course is co-instructed by an Elder Law Attorney and a Certified Financial Planner. Senior adult and disabled retiree tuition waivers apply.
