Course Description

Explore the history of the Lower Susquehanna River and how it shaped the development of this part of northeastern Maryland. Beginning in the colonial era, students will look at life in this area and the progress of towns and villages along the river in Maryland. The course begins with classroom study of the past, then moves outdoors to study how the waterway shaped Port Deposit and Havre de Grace. One in-classroom session followed by 2 field trips for hands-on learning.
